Phuket Trip With Love : 2nd Entry on Day 1 in Phuket

Day 1 – Thursday, 22^nd March 2012

We started the journey with

The AIRPORT

We reached the airport around 730 pm (Tq bro coz sending us to the airport), check-in (sent our luggage) and then we did the Magrib Prayer (Jamak Qasar with Isyak). Our flight was at 820 PM. Thought we may find difficulty to find something to eat in Phuket so we took dinner in the flight.

We arrived at Phuket International at 840 pm (Thai Time) for an hour and 20 minutes of journey. Alhamdulillah, everything went well as plan, flight not delay, and the weather was fine.

At the airport, someone approached us for the airport transfer service (Airport - Hotel- Airport). They also offered the Phuket Island & City tour. But we didnt pick any Island Trip at the airport, as we was informed by our friend that we can get cheaper price from the travel agency near hotel (unless you have a very limit time in Phuket).

AIRPORT TRANSFER

We have choices either to take the minibus (have to share with others) or cab/taxi (more expensive).  We decided to take minibus to get some experience. We wonder how the minibus looks like but actually it wasn’t that bad at all. But if you want privacy, then take a taxi. Ask at the airport for their current departure schedules and pricing and then make your decision. It’s simple, just tell them your hotel name, pay at the counter and they will bring you there. It took around 45minutes to an hour from Airport to reach Patong. I said hi to the lady that sitting next to me, and she was from Jakarta, came to Phuket with her parent and her sister.  We exchanged story on the trip. Surprisingly they were actually took a same flight as ours. 

Along the way, we saw the Toyota & Honda Showroom, the Premium Outlet Phuket (the western architecture design, the building is not so much different with the one in Johor), Patong's Bangla Road nighlife (when we reached Patong) etc.

HOTEL

We reached the hotel around 10 something. The check-in process was fine (we need to show the printed hotel booking), not so much time waiting but we have to wait the bell-boy to send us to our room. That’s seems to be the hotel policy. (Maybe boleh sesat kot kalau pergi sendiri). Reached our room, gave the bell boy some tips. The room was nice and comfortable, clean and big enough for both of us (alhamdulillah, Tq Love for booking this hotel). Got small fridge with 2 bottles of mineral water/day, TV with many channels (inclusive of Astro Sport channel, V. Channel, History etc), towel, shower gel, shampoo also provided. And also Got Wi-Fi at Hotel’s Lobby.   Oh I forgot to mention here that we stayed at APK Resort and Spa, Patong.

We choose APK as we decided to stay in Patong. It's near to the town area, very near to the happening Bangla Road, only walking distance to Jungceylon (shopping mall), Thai Boxing (Muay Thai) at Bangla Stadium, 7-eleven, Family Store, Travel Agency and Money Exchange.

So after few unpacking thing, cleaning, and watching P. Ramlee Bio @ History Channel, time to get some rest.

 

Summarize of our trip in Phuket as the  following :  

Day 2 : Searching for Travel Agency & Cab from Hotel – Airport, Halal Place to eat ; Patong City & sight-seeing at the beach (with bike);

Day 3 : Island Trip & continue sight-seeing (with bike)

Day 4 : Phuket Town Tour, Elephant Trekking, Buy Souvenir (with bike);

Day 5 : Good bye Phuket

So the next 3^rd Entry will be Day 2 at Phuket with Love.
